Saw my musical inspiration @bobdylan in concert la Saw my musical inspiration @bobdylan in concert last weekend! Pic is blurry, but a big moment for me. Rumor has it Bob Dylan picked the name Dylan as homage to the poet Dylan Thomas, and I picked my handle, @mrstambourineman as an homage to him. It was the first song I learned on guitar sixteen years ago and later the harmonica, six months after the guitar. Becoming a songwriter has taken me down many paths, some in real life and others in the mind. I'm thankful to have it as a guide for adventure and an outlet when I need it. It takes a village to raise a grad student. If you It takes a village to raise a grad student. If you helped me revise a poem or cover letter, if you walked with me when I was feeling sad, if you were on the other side of the phone when I needed a familiar voice, if you gave me a ride to the airport in the middle of the night, if you collected shells or shark teeth with me, if you held my hand on one of Florida's many rides of which I was terrified, if you showed up to one of my shows, if you played music with me, if you played Mario Party with me, if you made/bought me dinner, if you kayaked the swamp looking for alligators with me, if you had me over for Thanksgiving, if you helped me to stand on a surf board, if you gave me some beads that were rightfully yours at Gasparilla, if you encouraged me by quoting the lost boys from Hook, you were part of that village. Don't underestimate the effect you have had on my life. I won't say I couldn't have done it without you because I don't honestly know. But I will say I thank God for you, and if I did do it without you, it would have been so much harder.
