Erin began teaching as a Literacy Coordinator from 2013-2015 in Baton Rouge through the City Year program, a part of the AmeriCorps national service network. She specialized in remedial reading for students with mild to moderate reading challenges such as dyslexia.

She later used these skills at Gibson and Aynesworth Elementary Schools in Fresno, California as a remedial reading instructor from 2016-2018.

From 2017-2021, Erin worked as the Life and Environmental Education Supervisor for the Parks and Recreation program in Fresno, California. She oversaw the science program in community centers around the city and led the Senior Science Initiative in 2019. Erin also organized River Camp for youth across Fresno County to learn about the Central Valley and paddling. In 2020, Erin also used these skills as a Zoo Ranger, educating the public about animal habitats and behaviors.

As a Teaching Assistant for Mission College in 2021, Erin planned small group lessons for a synchronous online conversational English course for intermediate speakers of English.

In August 2021, Erin began teaching at the University of South Florida in the Department of English. In addition to her classroom duties, she served as the Instructor of Record for sixteen ENC 1102 courses as a mentor to incoming graduate students adjusting to their teaching responsibilities from 2023-2024. She supervised the new TAs by evaluating their grading practices and holding weekly meetings in which we discussed pedagogical strategies for the week ahead. She also contributed to the First-Year Composition curriculum as a content assistant. During my assignment, she turned the final project in ENC 1102 from a reflection of the course to a rhetorical analysis of the writing conventions presented in the sources students used for their research papers.
